Our History

In 2005, our 250-student facility was staffed with Polk County Public School personnel, including a Principal who has served as an instructional leader in Florida. At Donald E. Woods Opportunity Center (DWOC), we serve students from grades 6-12, from middle schools and high schools in the Eastern Polk County, Florida area. We strive for our students to return to their home schools as soon as possible.

What Makes Us Different?

Our focus is on student excellence and achievement. Our mission is to provide a high-quality education for all our students. At DWOC our daily endeavor is to see all our students return to their home schools as soon as possible, prepared for success in college or career after graduation.
